Pursuant to the Act of 19 August 2011 on the sign language and other means of communication (Journal of Laws No 209, item 1243), since 1 April 2012 the Statistical Office in Szczecin has been providing the possibility to receive assistance of a sign language interpreter or interpreter-guide when handling an official case at the Statistical Office to persons experiencing permanently or temporarily difficulties in communicating.

An intention to use an assistance should be reported to the Office at least 3 working days before such event (except for emergencies) with an indication of chosen means of communication.
