Since 1 January 2009 new organization of works has been in force in official statistics due to the implementation of specialisation of statistical offices. It consists in assigning conduct of selected surveys covering the whole country to given offices. Therefore, the existing principle of collecting all reports from the area of a voivodship by offices ceased to apply.

Additionally, statistical data (reports) should be currently submitted electronically via the Reporting Portal e-Statystyka.

Within the framework of specialisation the Statistical Office in Szczecin carries out tasks related to:
￮ preparing methodological principles, conducting surveys,  preparing publications and statistical analyses concerning:
   —  science, technology, innovation and information society statistics,
   —  maritime statistics,
   —  inland waterways transport statistics,
   —  transport and communications statistics,
   —  real estate market,
￮ conducting planning and programming works within the Office’s specialisation,
￮ participating in international co-operation within the Office’s specialisation,
￮ conducting works linked to using administrative sources of data.

The remaining scope of statute tasks of the Statistical Office, including conducting questionnaire surveys (in households including noting prices), estimates of area (commune and voivodship) agricultural valuers, realisation of tasks related to TERYT and REGON registers, has been unchanged.
